MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
1. OPERATING SYSTEMS. WINDOWS 7, WINDOWS 8, WINDOWS 10 , MAC OS 10.8x .
2. MEMORY AT LEAST 4 GB RAM.
3.NETWORK (BROADBAND CONNECTION MUST), WIRED DSL INTERNET CONNECTION AT LEAST 20 Mbps.
SELECTION PROCESS
1. TELEPHONIC INTERVIEW
First you have to apply on Whitehat jr. to become teacher . After submitting the form you will get a call, within 48 hours from their team for telephonic interview ; where they want to know - Who the candidate is? educational, professional background... to know whether you will be able to teach coding to kids or not and more about work experience, if any.
2. TECHNICAL ROUND
Once you clear telephonic interview ,second round will be technical round , where their technical team guides the candidates on - How to share screen and other user interface, for a seamless interview experience. In this round, you just have to watch carefully and understand -whatever they are guiding on the screen . So that you can teach what they have told you and when it is given to you, then you can easily do it.
AFTER THIS YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH 3 DEMO ROUNDS;-
- DEMO ROUND 1 : In this round you will be given a pdf. and asked to take a class . Just go through the pdf. ,understand it and practice it like teaching to a student .This round will be "online class delivery" . Interviewer, as a kid, will attend a class and ask you to deliver a class. they will act like a student. So you have to start asking -How they are, which city,Which class ,How is covid-19 in your area, What is your aim-aimbition. Relate it with Machine learning and artificial intelligence and then say- "Today we are going to start with simple exercise" . Talk as given in demo sample video. You just have to give demo as per as pdf. and then they will ask technical questions related to pdf only. Whatever code is written in that pdf. ,they may make few changes and ask you to write code for the same .
NOTE: PREPARE THE GIVEN PDF THOROUGHLY AND TEACH WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT.ONE THING YOU HAVE TO KEEP IN YOUR MIND THAT ,YOU NEED TO
After this round you have to face , DEMO ROUND 2.
- DEMO ROUND 2: In this round , you will given a pdf or google collab sheet with 5 sample questions and answers but the questions will not be same, they will be similar. You have to answer at least 3 questions correctly in 45 minutes, I think. And after this round there will be, DEMO ROUND 3.
- DEMO ROUND 3: In this round, Director of Whitehat jr. will take your interview. Again it will be same like first demo. you have to deliver a class and Director will attend your class as a kid but this time be interactive ,be more confident, explain better and give the best wrap up pitch.explain why you should join whitehat jr. , why they should hire you etc. they won't be asking you any technical details in your third round, thy will just looking at your warm up and wrap up. memorise things in wrap up pitch like interacting with students .
TIPS ;-. You have to have coding experience at least for advance level teachers. there are three levels 1. beginner 2. intermediate 3. advance . they need more advance level teachers. For this you need to have at least a computer science background.
2. You are expected to have great English skills as you will be tutoring both Indian and US students . Please don't do grammatically mistakes while speaking. you should have a good communication skills and lot of energy during demo rounds. you have to think that you are sitting in front of a kid and give your interview. Make sure you smile and try to make the class more interactive.
TEACHER PAY STRUCTURE
All over their initiative is good .Let me explain you one by one:
They have a set script for interacting with students online and the Teachers are supposed to teach and even talk as per that script only. In 50 minutes of interactive class, there is a specific set of tasks from the teacher's as well as students side ,which need to be completed.
2. ACTUAL PAY:
Guaranteed pay for recruited teachers is only rupees 10,000 per month. Contrary to what Whitehat Jr. advertises on all their ads that- Earn rupees 30,000- 50,000 or more a month. Rs.10,000 is paid when you make 120 hours at a time in a month ,available for them;meaning at least 30 hours a week .
3. DYNAMICS:
Beyond this Rs.10,000 a teacher paid Rs. 325 per class for a student who has paid for the entire course and only Rs. 50 per class if the student is taking a trial class monthly. The teachers are made to teach trial classes initially that mean:
"120*50= rs. 6000" added pay that makes Rs. 16,000 a month after dedicating 120 hours in a month.
Once you are selected on the basis of that, you can deliver their scripted coding classes as per as their PDF .You will be on probation of 6 months ,you cannot leave.
PENALTY:
If in a week you cannot complete your stipulate 30 hours , You have to adjust these . You might not even get paid if you cannot complete those 120 hours a month. They levy a penalty of Rs. 550 per classes for no show on the teachers part After having agreed to take a class. No provisions of paid medical leave and casual leave
